Learning To Read In Adulthood
This is an interactive and discussion-based workshop to enlist adult learner insight regarding their reading experiences. This session will be build around a research study by the presenter where 11 learners were interviewed in-depth about the success factors that helped them learn to read as adults.
Findings revealed that four factors had made the difference in most cases:
- One-to-one tutoring
- Understanding phonics
- Having a purpose
- High expectations by the tutor
